for the forth consecutive year, we will be borrowing the Belton Campus of Calvary University for the weekend. Just south of the Kansas City metro, Calvary offers dining, lodging, and an array of options for lectures, worship, prayer, athletics and fellowship.

Getting to Vessels

Location

The conference is held
at Calvary University
:

15800 Calvary Road

Kansas City, MO 64147

Parking

Parking is available on campus close to each building. In general, you can park during this weekend in most available parking places. The main buildings that we will be in (reference the map) are the Conference Center (#13 on map) for the meetings and the Elmwood Dorm (#15 on map in yellow). Parking lot (#17) is between the two and there is also parking not shown on the south side of the dorm closer to the entrance.

Check-In

When you arrive at the campus, check in at the conference registration desk in the lower lobby of Conference Center (#13 on map).  At check in you will receive your name badge, room key (if applicable), and conference information.

Check in will start by 4:30 PM on Friday, and remain open throughout the evening. If you need to arrive later than 11:00 PM, please email us at vesselsconference@gmail.com, or send us a message on Facebook in advance for arrangements to be made to let you into your room late. We encourage everyone to try to arrive early enough to allow enough time to register and relax prior to the first general session.

Early Arrivals or Late Departures

If you are arriving prior to Friday or plan to stay after Monday please let us know that and we will try to help you with possible options.

Airplane Arrivals

Vessels of Honor will be operating shuttle service from the Kansas City International Airport on Friday through Monday. Please let us know the flight number and time of your arrival if you need to be picked up and we will have someone at the airport to get you. If this info was not included in your registration form, please send it in advance of the conference to vesselsconference@gmail.com, or send us a message on Facebook.

The Vessels of Honor conference is a bit longer and more rigorous than a typical weekend conference, and as such there are some special considerations. As always we are eager for your feedback, so if anything is ever confusing or if you have suggestions for improvements, please feel free to let us know.

While at Vessels

Gifts and Offerings

The registration fee for the conference covers conference materials, meals and lodging (depending on your registration type) but not fellowship for the speakers. The offering taken at the Lord’s Supper on Sunday morning will go completely for fellowship with the speakers. Visit our Donation Information page to learn more about these and other types of in-person or online giving.

Meals

Your conference registration includes meals during your stay. Meals included are breakfast Saturday to breakfast Monday (depending on your registration type). Please note – supper Friday and lunch Monday are not served at the conference so you will need to make your own arrangements for those. There are several restaurants within a few miles of the campus.

We request that all attendees wear their name badges during meals. Please let us know as soon as possible if any guests plan to join you for a meal, so we can alert the kitchen. Extra meals for guests cannot be guaranteed.

Lodging

If you registered to lodge on campus, be advised that the following items are NOT provided:

  • pillows, blankets, and sheets (twin size)

  • towels

  • shampoo, soap (hand and bath) and other toiletries.

Each room at Elmwood Dorm has its own bathroom. Typically, two single attendees will be assigned to a room (honoring requests when possible). If you need your own room, please ask and we will see what we can do. Most rooms have two twin beds.

Dress Code

Vessels of Honor is a business-casual event. Slightly nicer clothes for Sunday morning would be welcome but are not required (we usually take a group photo then).

Books

We will again have a book room this year with an opportunity to preview a selection of excellent books. Attendees can then purchase books in the format of their preference directly from online resources.

Contact

Dan Moffitt is the contact if you have any questions regarding your registration.  You may also contact the conference director, Scott Kratzer with any general question or requests. To be put in contact with either of these men, please check your inbox for your reminder email. If you email us at vesselsconference@gmail.com, or send us a Facebook message we can also answer questions and get you connected.
